Ulrich Schnauss x “A Long Way to Fall” (Album Preview)
It’s been six long years since we’ve heard of the German electronic lover Ulrich Schnauss, but no time is better than the present as news surfaces of his first solo LP since that time, “A Long Way to Fall” . In an attempt to explore new versatile trends as well as recapturing older musical qualities Schnauss has evidently come up with a collection of songs that transcends the realm of modern sound and gives listeners a sound that is captivating and seductive.
A Long Way to Fall is actually a name of one the tracks on the LP and you can check it out below. After a few listens of the track I realized that as a whole it sort of had this mental hook that stick on to me and seemed to string me along. It placed me into a mental submission that I did not insist on fighting against but rather just simply embracing the sound that was flowing through my ears. Schnauss seems to focus on the sound of the synthesizer and places smaller more timid musical elements around it, as to accentuate but not drown the sound of the synthesizer. This track stays true to who Schnauss is at heart, a artist who can translate imagery and emotions into the pleasure of music.
