A Conversation with Big Grimm

.
For many people in the world, first impressions are everything. What’s the most important thing you want the readers of this interview to know first?
I’m Big Grimm and from the southside of Atlanta, GA. Riverdale to be exact. I’m just grinding trying to put out high quality street music behind the greats that came before me and dropped classic material.
.
How would you say your style and music is different from the rest of the game?
If you see me in the streets first off, you not going to see anybody that looks like me. As far as my music, I’m a very aggressive and charismatic guy and it shows throughout each record.
.
Let’s talk about growing up in Atlanta. How was that experience and what were some of the most memorable moments of your childhood?
Even though my childhood was filled with a lot of pain, there is no place in the world where I would have rather grown up at. As a kid, I had a health issues and I flat-lined twice on the operating table. When you experience death, it changes you especially when you are a kid. At that time in my life, I felt I had witnessed the worst that life could offer, so there was nothing else to fear. That type of thinking helped me, but also got me into a lot of trouble too.  Memorable moments would be my grand pops giving me my first mixtape as a kid. Out of all the people in the world it was my grand pops who introduced me to Hip-Hop.  The cassette tape had a ton of records on it from the Dungeon Family to Kilo Ali.
.

.
If you could spend one day in the studio with anybody in the game, past or present, artists, DJ or producer, who would it be and why?
Past it would be Pac. Just because of the legacy and his body of work. Present it would be Pharrell and the Neptunes. Dudes got heat and the versatility man… their beats are just crazy.
.
If music wasn’t your choice of career, what would Big Grimm be doing at this moment?
Shit I would probably be full time in the streets, but if I had a choice I would be involved in football in some capacity like the NFL.
.
At this point, what’s been the best moment of your career?
Having my single “Straight Drop” (produced by Lex Luger) premier on Street Sweepers Radio on Shade 45. That’s motivation right there and completing my first project “The Taste Test” is the outcome.
.

.
Talk a little bit about your new upcoming mixtape. Any features, guest producers and etc.
The mixtape is called “The Taste Test” and its hosted by Trap-A-Holics.  This is the first installment of my COD (Coke on Delivery) series and it will be dropping in mid June. The Taste Test will not have any features, just because I wanted the listener to get to know me personally.

.
To close, what can we expect from you in the near future?
Keep a look out for the mixtape in mid June and after that you can expect my second installment from my COD series dropping before the end of the summer.  In the mean time I’m just going to keep dropping dope shit to keep feeding my growing fan base.
