God of War 3 Remains The Exclusive to Beat of 2010
According to NPD, God of War 3 sales in North America alone have reached the 1.5m mark. The PS3 exclusive was released in March against some heavy competition but neither Final Fantasy XIII, Red Dead Redemption or Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for the PS3 have moved as many copies in the region.
No other console exclusive on the PS3 or X360 released during the first half of 2010 has sold as much as God of War 3 in North America either. This includes individual sales of Mass Effect 2 and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction on the X360.
Numbers for GOW 3 outside of the US are hard to come by but we do know the game sold over 88k units in Japan as of June 17th.
For now God of War 3 is the top selling HD exclusive in North America, and possibly the rest of the world, but that’s sure to change later in the year.
